Welcome to the Farm!

This picture depicts what we are trying to accomplish. We are passing down from one generation to the next, the process of farming. Walter Sr. is showing his great granddaughter, Chloe, how to feed some of the farm animals. We are tyring to create a way of life- free from Corporate America. We want to grow vegetables organically and raise grass fed farm animals the way they were raised a hundred years ago - without harmful chemicals and growth hormones and pesticides. We have a vision to be carbon nuetral in five to seven years. We are first going to convert our heating system to a wood burning system where we can harvest the wood from our mountain while keeping it a renewable source. Next we would like to put up photovoltaic on the barn to power the house, the barn, and the passive solar greenhouse to be built this coming year. We started last year with CSA’s and plan to increase our number of shareholders in 2009. We bring our vegetables to an assisted living complex so that our senior citizens have the opportunity to have fresh organic vegetables. We realize our mission is immense and it might take the next generation to accomplish this but it will be worth it.
